I freaking love food. If you follow me for a while that's probably no secret, haha. That's why I adore combining my passion for blogging with my love for trying out new food at cute hotspots. Today I'm going to share a fairly new hotspot in my city, called The Pool Groningen. The Pool is a Mediterranean restaurant, located in the super trendy The Student Hotel. If you're into cool and unique interior, you have to check out this hotspot...

"We like to think of the Mediterranean as a giant pool surrounded by food-loving communities. From The Old Silk Road trade route of 114 BC to the thriving tapas culture of modern-day Spain, this is the part of the world where food and coffee are more than a material goods. They’re a way of life."
THE LOCATION
The Pool Groningen is just a 5-minute walk from the city centre and is located at Boterdiep 9, Groningen. You can find The Pool in The Student Hotel (a hotspot I will talk about in the future as well!). It's very big and spacious, so it's definitely worth the little walk from the main city centre!
THE INTERIOR
I know what you're thinking: Lilia, what happened to the short hair? Don't worry, this is actually a major throwback to the time I still had my long manes, so no extensions are involved. Have to say that I do really miss my long hair, I still regret cutting it in a lob. I do feel like it's a bit longer now already, so luckily it's not forever. 😉
Anyways - when it comes to the interior, The Pool Groningen is absolute GOALS. As I already mentioned, the restaurant is really spacious, has big windows and catches a lot of light. The interior is a cool mixture between modern and funny (I mean, how cute are the little cacti vases right!). The Pool is the perfect Instagrammable spot, so definitely a must visit for any of my bloggers or online influencers!
THE FOOD
The Pool Groningen restaurant’s menu is inspired by the tastes and culinary cultures of Southern Europe, Africa, Arabia, Persia, India and China, where stories, ideas and meals were meant to be shared. They've taken the fresh, vibrant cuisines of France, Italy and Spain and fused it with the exotic flavours of the Levant, the Balkans and North Africa. All dishes have been designed for sharing, so they encourage you to take part of the age-old Mediterranean tradition of mixing, mingling and enjoying.
When it comes to food, there are a couple of dishes that I did and didn't like. First of all, you have to try their french fries: they are delicious. Also, they serve very good soy cappuchino and fresh orange juice. I wasn't the biggest fan of their pizza tho - I've tried better ones before. Also, if you are vegetarian like me (or vegan), there are some options you can choose from, but not a lot. However, I still enjoyed my dinner there and I would definitely come back to try something else on their menu.
You can find more information about The Pool Groningen here.
