How To Plan for Law School/University, Work & Social Life

How To Plan for Law School/University, Work & Social Life

Being a full-time law student, running my own business, having some sort of a social life, and taking care of my mental and physical health can be quite challenging. Balancing all these different aspects of my life require me to be very organized and plan effectively. So how do I do it? In this blogpost, I am going to share my most important tips on how to plan for law school or university, work and your social life, and how I use my Supplied by Lily Student Desk Planner.

I highly recommend you watching my How To Plan effectively video first, before continuing reading this blogpost. It will give you an even better and more detailed idea of how I use my planner on a daily basis. With that being said, my planning routine consists of the following 4 steps:

1. FIND A PLANNER THAT WORKS FOR YOU

Your planner is like your best friend: You cannot just pick randomly. Choosing a planner that works for you is a personal matter, and you have to make sure that the planner you end up going for is easy and practical to use, and satisfies all your planning needs. For me, the perfect planner is definitely the Supplied by Lily Student Desk Planner. I've created this planner to fit any student's needs, and after using it religiously for 2 years, I literally cannot live without it (just like my best friend!). It comes with a yearly, monthly and weekly overview, as well as to do lists and exam and deadline sections. It helps me get my busy life under control and make effective and realistic plans. I would highly recommend it to anyone. And guess what? You can use the discount code PLANNER25 for 25% off any Supplied by Lily Desk Planner. If you want to get a planner, now is the time!

2. CREATE A MONTHLY OVERVIEW

It's important to keep an eye ont the bigger picture when you're creating your plans or schedules. That is why I always start off creating a monthly overview with all the important deadlines, exams, appointments or meetings I have. Think of things such as that research paper deadline you have at the end of the month, a concert  you booked tickets for months prior, or an important presentation. By having all your plans in one monthly overview, you can easily get a picture of days you are too busy to study or work, and days you are off to do some die hard hustlin'.

3. PLAN A WEEKLY SCHEDULE

This is the most important part of my planning routine: Creating a weekly schedule. Although a montly overview will give you a general feel for what you have to do that month, a weekly schedule really shows you the nitty gritty of your tasks. Again, I use my trusty Supplied by Lily Student Desk Planner in order to organize my weekly schedule. In my weekly schedule, I start by writing down all my classes and lectures for that week, meetings, or other reoccuring events. This will give me a good overview of what spare time I have left. After that, I focus on planning out my study time and work. Make sure you have a general sense of how many hours you can study, what time you're the most productive, and how many days you have left before your deadlines. Last, but not least, I like to write down some things I tend to forget, such as paying bills, doing groceries, or getting my nails done.

4. MAKE A TO DO LIST

Planning out your day, week, or month can be quite overwhelming. Whenever I feel that way, I like to put aside any of my daily, weekly, or monthly overviews, and just go back to the basics by making a simple to do list. Writing down all your tasks without the "pressure" of actually having to make a tight schedule can sometimes be exactly the thing you need. I use my Supplied by Lily To Do List in order to write down all my tasks. Not only does it look very pretty, it's also super practical: It gives you the option to categorize your to dos by study, work & other, and also by priority. This way you still have a very organized to do list, without actually creating a schedule.

I would love to win the Luxurious floral planner! I really like your planner, I already have one in marble (but the old version without the monthly planner ) and it helped me so well + it looks gorgeous on my desk too! :p
I think sticky notes would be nice for next year’s collection! It’s difficult to find beautiful little sticky notes to mark your books, but not the paper version but thicker, kind of plastic (I don’t know how to explain). Also beautiful pens or highlighters would be very nice I think!
Good luck with your exams, you can do it!

Sticky notes, YEEEESSS. That would be great. Finding nice ones, that also actually stick to the surface you stick them on seems really hard these days…

I just love your whole stationary line! I bought both notebooks and the daily planner as soon as I heard they were out. I’m just in love with the design and how functional, yet pretty they are. Maybe you could give your next products a cherry blossom design. I know how much you love ’em, I mean who doesn’t??!!
