MONTHLY FAVES: FEB 2014

Hey guys!

Today it’s the last day of February, so it’s time for a new Monthly Faves! I know, everybody says this everytime they do a monthly favourites, but what the heck happened to February? The winter is already almost over, and I’m feeling like didn’t even start in Holland. So fucking strange, how time just flies by. Well, I’m glad were getting into spring, because I can’t wait to wear pastels again! Although I love my all black errthang, haha!
Beauty

When I was a bit younger (around 15/16 years) I always wore black liner in my waterline. I stopped using it after a while, because my eyes became very watery when I used it. But this month I decided to try it again, just to see how it looks. And I really liked it! It makes my eyes look stronger, if you know what I mean. I use the Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 931 Black from NYC to line my eyes. I’m very picky when it comes to eyeliners, because most of them don’t stay on my very watery waterline. When I was younger I always used black gelliner and some black eyeshadow on top of it, to stop it from smudging. And that didn’t even last the whole day! So yes, my eyes are die hard watery haha. But this eyeliner does stay on for a long time. I was very surprised, because it was only €3.-! It’s not really waterproof, so I won’t recommend you to wear it while your swimming or something, but on if you wear it on a normal day, it does stay on quite a while. It’s also very black and smooth, it really glides over your waterline. So if you’re in the market for a cheap eyeliner, try this one!

Make-up wise, I’ve been loving contouring my cheekbones in February. I’ve always loved a very contoured look on girls, but because I literally don’t have any cheekbones, it’s very hard for me to contour, without it looking very strange and fake. Especially because I’m very pale as well, so bronzers usually look orange on me. But I have to say, these 2 products together work very well for me. It’s the MAC blush in Harmony (a very cool, brown colour, doesn’t look orange at all) and the MAC 168 Contour brush. So if you’re very pale like me and you don’t have prominent cheekbones, try these 2 guys. I pretty sure you gonna love them!

My last beauty related fave is the Victoria’s Secret Angel perfume (or actually body mist). It’s always been one of my favourite fragrances, but this month I wore it a lot. Probably because I bought a big bottle of it in Dubai haha. It smells sweet, but not too sweet. It’s fresh and girly, but it’s still a grown up scent, if you know what I mean. It’s not that only 14 year old can wear it or something like that. It’s a scent that everybody likes I think, because it’s not too strong. It just smells very nice, haha!
Fashion

My obsession for rose gold didn’t left me this month either. I especially loved wearing this chain, together with my other rose gold jewellery. Before I bought this chain, I almost always wore my gold chain from Bijou Brigitte, so it was nice to change it up a bit. I bought the chain at H&M and it feels very heavy, which I like.

One of the other fashion related things I loved this month was my Bershka coat that I scored during the sale. I’ve been wearing it non-stop. I only once wore my other coat, a fluffy fake fur one, since I got it. So yeah, I’m very happy I got this coat. I think I’m going to wear it loads in March as well!

I also rediscovered my Alexander Wang Rocco Duffle Bag knock-off that I bought at Hippe Hebbedingetjes ages ago in February. It has been my favourite bag this month. I love the studding at the bottom and the not too slouchy model of the bag. It’s classy, but it also has something sporty I think. Lately, I’ve been into very minimalistic bags, so that’s one of the reasons I’ve been loving this bag this month. Because the studding is only at the bottom, the bag is still relatively simple, which I like. I hope that I will have the real one with rose gold studs one day, haha!

The last fashion-y thing I loved during the month of February were jeans. When I was younger, I loved wearing jeans, but as I got older (and I got a bit more ass hahaha) I didn’t like how they felt anymore. They were always so tight and uncomfortable. So I switched it up, and wore only leggings and very stretchy jeans. This month though, I decided to give them another go. And I loved it! I especially loved to wear my very old Diesel Cherick Slim Tapered jeans and my new black highwaisted skinny from H&M. They’re different, but I really enjoyed wearing them both this month. They’re both made from real jeans material, but they’re still pretty stretchy.
Favourite OOTD
I actually wore this outfit when it was still January (during my Dubai trip), but I posted this look in February, so it counts right? I love the laidback, sporty vibe of this outfit. I think I’m going to wear this outfit loads during the summer in Holland.
Music
My favourite song this month was Grown Woman by Beyoncé. If you have read my last post, you know that I’m kinda into Queen B right now, haha. I think she is one of the most successful women of the world. She truly is a role model, and she is a inspiration to me. And I just love her music, haha! I think this song is very powerful, motivating and uplifting. So if you haven’t listened to it, do it know, I know you gonna like it :). I also had a choreo on this song with hiphop feminine this week, what a coincidence right, haha!
Series
My favourite series this month was New Girl. It’s about this girl Jess, that moves into an loft after her break-up, with 3 single dudes. And the weirdest, funniest things happen to them. I watched season 1 and 2 a long time ago. After the break, I kinda forgot about it, so I didn’t watched for a while. But this month I discovered that I had a whole season 3 waiting on me, yaay! I think New Girl is a funny, cute series that is sometimes very relatable for us girls. Do I think that it’s a masterpiece, the best series around? No, but I do think it’s fun to watch and it makes you feel good. So if you’re into not very heavy themed series, this is the one for you!

How was your month of February? Did you enjoyed it overall? If not, no worries, because it’s already over, and March is waiting for you! It’s funny how I switched back to my old style in some ways this month (the eyeliner on my waterline and the jeans). Maybe because of the new year? Haha, well I don’t know, but I don’t mind it at all :). See ya tomorrow guys!

P.S. I changed my header again! What do you think about it? I did like the first one as well, but I think this header represents my blog a bit better. It’s also a lil’ sneakpeak of an ootd I have coming, haha!
