Now that I am almost moving out of my loft apartment in Groningen, I wanted to dedicate a couple of blogpost to different areas in my interior. I know a lot of you love my loft just as much as I do, so I hope you enjoy seeing it in this blogpost + video for the last time before I move to Washington DC! Today I'm going to show you my shoe collection and also give you a tour of my shoe closet. This is definitely one of my favorite parts of my loft apartment, because I love how clean it looks (and I love my shoes too).
THE SHOE CLOSET
The closet that I use to display my shoes is from Ikea. It is actually a bookshelf, but I think it works perfectly as a shoe closet. The key to creating that Pinterest worthy shoe closet is by organizing your shoes by color, style and size. This way, you will create a very pleasing ensemble to look at and your shoes will become a part of the interior of your room as well. Because I mostly own black shoes, organizing them by color was quite easy. For style, I like to put boots next to boots, heels next to other heels, and flats paired with other flats. Last but not least, I put shoes similar in size (for example in heel height) on one shelf together too. Another thing is that you should always take care of your shoes. Clean them after you wear them, polish them every week (yes I honestly do that!) and get them resoled every couple of months. Not only will your shoe closet look way prettier, your shoes will also last you longer. So with these tips, your shoe closet will look like a Pinterest hack in no time!

MY SHOE COLLECTION
If you want to see my whole shoe collection, definitely check out this video. I am showing you every pair of shoes I own, while also trying them on of course. When you look at my collection, most of my shoes are black. I just love how versatile black shoes are - they literally go with everything. Most of my shoes have a heel, and that's because I wear heels on a daily basis. I am petite, so I can always use some extra length + I love how feminine heels look. I am definitely a heel walking expert, haha. ;) If you liked this video, don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel here.
