5 Tips For a Relaxing Summer Night

5 Tips For a Relaxing Summer Night

Summer vacation is almost coming to an end. I only have exactly one week left until I need to head back to university. That sucks, I know. Honestly, I feel like this Summer flew by and I didn’t even really felt like I enjoyed it. Although I don’t feel like I’ve recharged from previous law school year, I’m excited to start with my research master ánd Philosophy bachelor. With that being said, I like to enjoy my last Summer vacay week to the fullest. And what better way than to have a couple of calming Summer nights? So I’m going to give you 5 tips for a relaxing Summer night, so you can still wind down from all the stress and business you had during your holiday before school.

1. COMFY OUTFIT

My first tip for you is immediately switching into a comfy outfit whenever you’re done with your day. Say bye to tight skinny jeans and croptops, and hello to oversized sweaters and soft shorts. I always like to wear a pair of shorts from Brandy Melville, paired with my favorite oversized sweater from SheInside. Wearing something comfy instantly makes you feel relaxed.

2. CANDLES, CANDLES CANDLES

If there’s something that screams relaxation for me, it’s going to be candles. Not only do I love how they look in my interior, I love burning scented candles to calm me down. I love using vanilla scented candles, but if you want to go all the way, try lavender. A nice, cosy room will make you feel relaxed and peaceful within seconds.

3. READ A BOOK

Although I love watching a good series, sometimes it’s nice to switch off all the screens we use and go oldskool by reading a book. There’s no better feeling than falling asleep with your book still in your hands (yes, that happened a lot to me). Reading books before I go to bed always makes me sleepy, so it’s a great thing to do if you have trouble falling asleep. Just don’t look at your phone or laptop before you go to bed for at least 30 minutes and grab your favorite book to unwind.

4. TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN

I confess: whenever I’m stressed out and it’s already late, I always skip my skincare routine. I just brush my teeth and remove my make-up, but that’s it. Skincare is very, very (VERY) important, so what better time to do it than during a relaxing Summer night? Try out some new creams or serums (my personal favorite), don’t forget to use eye cream and treat your skin with a nice scrubbing session and face mask. Your skin will thank me later, I guarantee you that!

5. FIND A NIGHT TIME ROUTINE THAT SUITS YOU

Last, but not least: find a night time routine that works for you. I made a whole video about my Summer night time routine on my Youtube channel, explaining how my perfect Summer night looks like. But what works for me, doesn’t necessarily have to work for you too. Just find a routine you enjoy doing (maybe you like listening to music or painting your nails – it’s up to you) and stick with it. There are no ‘wrongs’ when it comes to this! Let me know if you have a good tip for a relaxing Summer night as well and I will talk to you later!

Jaa, helemaal eens met deze tips! Naar het strand gaan en daar een wandeling maken als het begint te schemeren is ook heel fijn en rustgevend! 🙂
