The most difficult, challenging, but also rewarding thing I have ever achieved is graduating from American Law School. I have never been more proud of myself, then the moment the Dean of Students called out my name on stage in front of hundreds of people, while giving me my diploma. It’s been exactly a year since I graduated, so in this blogpost, I want to finally share more about my experience going to law school for 5 years both in the Netherlands and in the US.

Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting Law School/University

Starting law school can be a scary thing. As scary as thinking it is a good idea to watch that horror movie late at night when you are home alone, or finding a big spider above the ceiling of your bedroom (okay I have to admit, that one is possibly scarier than attending law school). Now that I have graduated, I can look back at my experience studying law and reflect on my personal journey. Even though I succeeded in getting that coveted law degree, I still wish I had done or knew particular things about studying at uni that I know now, before I actually started law school. My Last Week in Law School & Future Plans

Dear Diary… This was the last day of my old life. A life as an ambitious law student in Washington DC at the George Washington University Law School. A life filled with sleepless caffeinated study nights in the law library, long calls with my girls about how much we wanted to cry over our papers, and friendships I made for a lifetime. It’s time to say goodbye. This is my last day of law school; and the first day of my new life. Today, is the first day of a new beginning.
