Finding your personal style can be challenging. It definitely takes a lot of time. Personally, I used to be a style chameleon, looking like a girly girl one day, and a tomboy another. Although there is nothing wrong with not fitting in one certain "style category", I found it quite frustrating. I always had the feeling of not knowing what to wear, even though I had a closet full of clothing. Due to the fact I had such an eclectic mix of different pieces, creating actually outfits I liked was hard. This made me mostly focused on trends, which made my closet last a maximum of one or two seasons. However, that's all in the past now! Ever since I started thinking about what outfits actually made me feel good, I discovered that I preferred more simple and minimal pieces. I began investing in more basics, and ended up with a capsule closet filled with items that went very well together and made me actually like the outfits I wore. This is one of my go-to outfits that I like during this season. It's the classic Lily Like outfit for Fall!
"A pair of well fitting mom jeans, a good old trusty leather jacket, some flattering high heels, and a designer bag: this is what I would like to call the classic Lily Like outfit for Fall."
What makes this look the classic Lily Like outfit for Fall though? First of all, this outfit embodies my personal style perfectly. I always tell others that my style is best described as minimal, feminine, mixed with a bit of an edge. In this case, most pieces are pretty basic and monochromatic, but the shoes and the fit of the turtleneck make the look more feminine, while the leather jacket and the bag add a touch of edge. Second of all, the color palette of this look is definitely my forté. Black and denim blue - you can't go wrong with that in my books. Lastly, in this outfit the focus lays on the luxury accessories and the fit of the items. It's not so much the combination of items, but that these pieces look nice and have the perfect fit for my body that makes this a true Lily Like outfit. A pair of well fitting mom jeans, a good old trusty leather jacket, some flattering high heels, and a designer bag: this is what I would like to call the classic Lily Like outfit for Fall.
Although I love how minimal this outfit is, I also wanted to show you a bit of a twist on this look by adding this dusty pink scarf from Acne Studios. I've been so obsessed with this color recently. My interior, lipstick shades and Instagram feed has been under the influence of this pretty pink shade and I completely understand why. It's such a nice twist on your typical neutrals! Although I already own the Acne Studios Narrow Canada Scarf in Light Grey, this scarf is a good addition to my closet. It's a very understated and super flattering color to incorporate in every (minimal) capsule wardrobe. Now I am kind of eyeing up this Acne Studios knit in the same color as well...
