Hey guys!
I have a new do it yoself for you today. A while back I did my home tour (click!) and I thought it would be a good idea if I showed you how I styled or made some of my home decors. So today is the day! I have a couple of diys to show you and they’re all really easy. See them as a mix between diy, tips & tricks and styling. Okay, that sounds pretty random, but I assure you, these diys will inspire you! If you want to revamp your room, without spending a lot of time, money or effort, these diys are perfect for you. So if you’re interested in some of the pieces I have in my room and how I made them, keep reading!
DO IT YOSELF NO. 1: MACBOOK SKIN/COVER
The first diy that I’m going to show you is the power of a cute laptop skin or cover. You have no idea how big of a difference a nice skin or cover can make for your room. Usually, laptops look boring and simple, but a skin or a cover can change that quickly! It especially makes a big difference when it comes to your desk. And lets be honest: if your desk looks nice and clean, you’ll be way more motivated to work there as well, right?
I have two options for you. The first one is a laptop case. I have this pink case that I got from Ebay. I think it makes my laptop look really cute, but it also protects it from getting scratched. A pink laptop on your desk looks way cuter than a regular one, right?
The second option is this marble skin that I got from Case App. The difference between the skin and the cover is that the cover is made from a hard, plastic material, while the skin is just a pretty thick sticker. A sticker will give your laptop not a lot of protection (only from scratches), but it is lighter and doesn’t make your laptop bulkier. I just love this marble print, I think it looks really good in any interior!
This is how my desk looks when it’s all neat. My laptop in a pretty skin, my iPhone 5 in also a cool leopard case and my desk planner from Hema. I love all the colours and the prints together! So yeah, this was ‘diy’ number 1. I just wanted to show you an easy way to spice up your desk and a laptop skin/case is perfect for that!
DO IT YOSELF NO. 2: FRESH SUNFLOWERS
Onto do it yoself no. 2. This one is also pretty obvious, but yolo! Fresh flowers. I feel like almost nobody buys fresh flowers anymore. Of course, I understand why: people think they’re not worth the money, because they die after a week or something. Well I have news for ya: I bought these 5 sunflowers that lasted me a bit longer than a week for only €3! C’mon guys, €3 is not that much. I would definitely spend €3 a month or something to get a nice, fresh room for it in return. I really like these sunflowers that I’ve put in this really cool vase that I got at Men At Work. Let’s be honest, a vase without any flowers in them looks boring, while a vase with some flowers looks hella cute!
I think it’s always nice to walk into a room that has fresh flowers. Not only do they make your room smell nice + look really stylish, they also say something about the person’s attitude I feel. I feel like somebody really cares about their room if they buy some fresh flowers every now and then. And that’s it for ‘diy’ number 2.
DO IT YOSELF NO. 3: SKULL BOTTLE
Diy number 3 is to use this amazingly badass skull bottle as decoration. I wanted a bottle like this for ages, but they were freaking expensive. So I was so glad when I saw this cheap ass one at the Xenos. They had two flavours, this red one and a green one. It contains syrup for cocktails, but I didn’t like the smell at all, so I just threw it away. After cleaning it, I just used it as a awesome decoration piece.
Here you can see it in ‘action’. How pretty right? You can even put some fresh flowers in it as well. I prefer mine empty, but it also looks cool with some liquor in it or water. I think it looks so cool, I just cannot get over it haha! So yeah, that’s it for ‘diy’ number 3.
DO IT YOSELF NO 4: FRAMED QUOTE
And now onto the last do it yoself for today, number 4. I’m going to show you how to make this framed quote. It’s really easy (like all the other diys), but I do think it looks fucking awesome. I bought this really simple photoframe at Action in a white colour, because it matches my decor. A black frame would also look really cool by te way. Then I browsed for a good quote. I like original quotes, that make you think about something, in stead of the typical ‘live laugh love’ quotes. How powerful is this one right? After choosing a good font for it, just print it and put it in your frame and you’re done! Because diy is so easy, I like to switch up this quote once in a while. I like to put this frame near my desk, so I will look at it often.
That’s the end of this diy blogpost. I think these random bits of home decor can really create a new vibe in your room, without too much effort. I hope you found these lil’ tips helpful and that you got inspired to incorporate some of these decor pieces in your home as well. If you do, let me know in the comments below! I love to know about your own home decorations :). Have a great day guys and talk to you later!

Love your idea’s. Is de skull van plastic of glas? X
dankje! ja hij is van glas! xo
Leuke ideeën! Vooral die skull en de quotes in lijstjes vind ik leuk. Dat laatste ga ik in mijn toekomstige huisje zeker veel ophangen. Love it!
dankjewel, superleuk om te horen! xo
Oh I was certain that you would frame your Lemony Snicket quote, tot would lay the laptop with marble skin on a marble table (the subtle hilarity). Love the flowers idea and it’s seasonal as well!
haha well i already painted it on my wall, so I didn’t want to frame the same quote. haha that would be really funny yet pretty at the same time! xo
