FOOD | Chocolate Oat DrinkJanuary has been a hell of a month for me. I was so busy with studying and stressing for my exams, I barely had the time to worry about other stuff. Such as my health, fitness and food pattern. And oh that thing called social life too. Anyways, now that my exams are finally over, I can start living a normal life again – kind of at least. Although this wasn’t a real new year’s resolution for me or something, I want to start getting fit again. Now it’s the perfect time to start if you want that perfect Summer body (I personally feel like ‘the perfect Summer body’ is more a myth than a true story lol) and this time I want to really achieve it. I don’t believe in diets, but I do believe in healthier choices. I’m not that type of person that needs something sweet from time to time. I’m not going to restrict myself, but instead, I’ll choose the healthier option. This time I have a (semi) healthy Chocolate Oat Drink for you, that’s the perfect alternative if you’re craving a sweet drink.

I was randomly browsing through the Albert Heijn when I was doing my groceries and I discovered this brand called Oatly. Their chocolate oat drink looked very promising, so I decided to try it out. It contains no milk, no soy, only oats. I’m kind of lactose intolerant (milk products make me nauseous, so I always try to go for an alternative). I’m also a big fan of chocolate milk, so could this be the perfect altnernative for me? Well, HELL YES. Omg guys, you have to try this out. It tastes so good and I can’t believe it contains no soy or milk. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. And it doesn’t have that weird healthy taste if you know what I mean. It justs tastes like good ol’ chocolate milk. Oats contain protein, carbs, fibers and healthy fats. It’s a far better option than any other chocolate milk out there for me. For the pictures I added some whipped cream and cinnamon, but of course you can skip the whipped cream part. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you’re interested, you can check out Oatly here. I know they sell it at the Dutch supermarket Albert Heijn, but I’m not sure of other selling points. You can also make it yourself, which I wanna try out as well! I just love discovering little healthier options like this! If you have some tips for me too, let me know in the comments below.

Looks like a lovely drink! I’ve not seen chocolate oat milk here but I do like the free from alternates we have. I usually stick with soy milk and my favourite is chocolate and coconut milk.

Soy milk is also nice, but it’s not really good for you unfortunately. Try out maybe rice or hazelnut milk too! xo
