Glossier is hot and happening in the beauty world. You have to been living under a rock if you are not familar with this online beauty brand. If you are into the "your skin but better look", you have to try out this brand that recently exploded on the internet and social media. I placed my very first Glossier order when I just moved to the United States (yes, it was literally one of the things I was most looking forward to, since Glossier is still very hard to get a hold off in the EU - #iamabeautyjunkie). Now, almost a year later, I have placed many more orders. In today's blogpost I am reviewing all the products that I ordered from Glossier. ALL OF THEM. Get ready for reading the Glossier Beauty Bible.
All Glossier orders come in these cute travel-friendly pouches. Who can say no to pink & practical stuff right? I already have a few of them and I always use them whenever I have to pack my skincare or make-up for a trip away!
GLOSSIER SKIN CARE
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
"One face wash to rule them all."
One should begin every day with a clean face - hence this Glossier Beauty Bible starting with the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. Like the name suggests, the consistency of this facial cleanser feels jelly, but once you mix it in with water, make-up, dirt - ew! - on your face, it actually turns into a milky consistency. It is a very soft cleanser, especially good for anyone that struggles with dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin, because it does not leave your face feeling squeaky clean. It also does not sting your eyes at all. However, if you are a real make-up lover that wears a lot of make-up on a daily basis, or struggle with super duper oily skin, this cleanser is not for you.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you have dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin and want a cleanser that is soft and leaves your skin hydrated.
You can shop the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser here for $18.
Glossier Solution + Cotton Rounds
"Transforms skin in four weeks."
After cleansing, it's time for my favorite skincare step ever: chemical exfoliation. Unlike physical exfoliators that scrape off the surface of your skin, chemical exfoliators like the Glossier Solution gently sloughs dead cells away through chemical exfoliation using 10% of three different acids - Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) - dissolving the bonds gluing problematic dead cells to the healthy skin beneath. With daily use, expect cleared acne and blackheads, smaller pores, and reduced redness. Skin’s texture will be smoother and softer, and the fabled glow of balanced, healthy skin will be in full force. Glossier also sells these cotton rounds with a G on it. They're soft and they look pretty cute, but they're definitely nothing special. I would personally skip these, except if you are a cotton round connaisseur.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you struggle with acne, blackheads, or an uneven skin texture. Skip the cotton rounds though.
You can shop the Glossier Solution here for $24 and the Glossier Cotton Rounds here for $4 for 6o rounds.
GLOSSIER THE SUPER PACK
"Part of a well-balanced skincare routine."
Even though chemical exfoliators are in my opinion the real work horse in any skincare routine, I do love to use a good serum as well. The state of your skin can fluctuate quite a lot - especially when seasons are changing, or when the A/C and high heat are blasting. Whatever your skin needs, Glossier came out with The Super Pack - three different serums that can be used as additional supplements for your face whenever your skin needs it. See them as your little helpers whenever your skin has some special needs. They are lightweight, non-greasy, and perfect to use for any skintype.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you have some extra coin to spend on fancy serums + cute packaging, or if you struggle finding serums that are not too heavy.
You can shop the Glossier The Super Pack here for $65.
Glossier Super Bounce Serum
"When you’re feeling dry."
Struggling with dry or dehydrated skin? The Glossier Super Bounce Serum featuring the beloved Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 as their key ingredient will definitely give your skin a moisture boost. The texture of this serum is very jelly and liquidy, making it perfect for combination or dehydrated skintypes that cannot use too oily serums. This makes it also perfect to use during the day or under make-up. I've noticed that some serums are just too heavy for me, and I am only able to use them at night. Another thing I like about this serum is that it does not pill - you know, those annoying little bits or "balls" some creams create when they just don't lay well on your skin. However, if you have extremely dry skin, this serum could be not heavy duty enough for you.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you have dehydrated or combination skin and you're looking for some moisture.
You can shop the Glossier Super Bounce Serum here for $28.
Glossier Super Glow Serum
"When you’re feeling dull."
Want that glow from within look? Using a serum that contains Vitamin C is your best bet. The Glossier Super Glow Serum combines Vitamin C to brighten, and Magnesium to energize your skin if you had to pull an all nighter at the library, or when you had a bit too much fun at your after work happy hour. The Glossier Super Glow Serum has a very water-like consistency, feeling more like applying an essence than an actual serum on your skin. It absorbs into your skin instantly. This makes it perfect to layer with other creams or moisturizers. However, a big downside to this product is the packaging. Although it looks hella cute on your counter top, Vitamin C is a very light sensitive ingredient - it has to be kept in a dark bottle in a dark place in order for it to be effective. Due to the fact the Glossier Super Glow Serum comes in a light bottle, you have to be very careful to not expose it to any sunlight - making it very travel-unfriendly as well.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you are looking for a Vitamin C based serum and you have a dark hiding place to keep it.
You can shop the Glossier Super Glow Serum here for $28.
Glossier Super Pure Serum
"When you’re feeling stressed."
It's no secret that I have acne. I've been struggling with having imperfect skin for almost 10 years now, and it can really kill your self-esteem. Even though I've come to except the fact that my self-worth does not depend on the amount of spots I have on my face, I would still prefer to not have them. I was curious to try out the Glossier Super Pure Serum, because it contains Niacinamide and Zinc, ingredients that are good for soothing redness and calming blemishes. Like the other Glossier Serums, the Super Pure has a light, water-gel consistency that absorbs into the your skin instantly. Even though this consistency is more gel like, it still does not pill of your face - huge plus! However, I did not notice a big difference to my skin when I was using this. Maybe it's because my acne is quite severe, but the Niacinamide was just not strong enough to truly get rid of all my blemishes. I will finish this Serum, but I am not planning on repurchasing it.
Would I recommend this product? No, only if you have a breakout once in a while and don't struggle with anything too severe when it comes to acne. Otherwise, this product is not for you.
You can shop the Glossier Super Pure Serum here for $28.
Glossier Priming Moisturizer
"Light and buildable moisture for a dewy, smooth canvas."
A moisturizer that functions as a make-up primer, while actually containing good properties for your skin, rather than any nasties like silicones: It sounds too good to be true. However, it actually isn't. The Glossier Priming Moisturizer is a miracle worker for anyone that is looking for a moisturizer that not only makes your skin look good without, but also with make-up. I discovered the amazing-ness of this moisturizer by accident. I had a long haul flight to the Netherlands, and for on-flight skincare, I brought one of the sample sizes of the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. It was quite a big sample, so I ended up adding 3 (!) layers of this moisturizer to my face before flying. Having combination skin, most moisturizer don't end up absorbing into my skin, especially if they are rather thick or if I add multiple layers like I did then.
However, after a couple of minutes, I noticed that this moisturizer completely soaked into my skin. Mind you, this is not a light or gel-like moisturizer at all, and has a rather traditional cream-like texture. You can say that this moisturizer is indeed truly buildable. It seemed like this cream made my skin look more even, calmed down all my redness and blemishes, and left my skin feeling AMAZING (yes, it was so amazing that it deserves all caps). Not only did my skin look great without make-up, it also functioned as the perfect base for my make-up application once I landed. In sum, the Glossier Priming Moisturizer is pretty much the best day cream ever and you need it in your life. Period.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, yes, and yes. Everyone NEEDS this moisturizer. I repeat N-E-E-D-S.
You can shop the Glossier Priming Moisturizer here for $22.
Glossier Balm Dotcom
"Our cult favorite do-everything skin salve."
The Glossier Balm Dotcom is considered a Glossier cult product. It is a multipurpose lip balm and skin salve, available in multiple flavors and colors. I am going to be straight with you guys: I did not understand the hype around this product. I got the Glossier Balm Dotcom in the flavor Cherry, featuring a sheer, juicy red tint. Yes, it does smell like cherries, and yes it leaves your lips tinted too, but if it's anything special? No, for sure not, especially not for the price. I would personally skip this product, as it just did not blow me away.
GLOSSIER MAKE-UP
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint
"More skin, less makeup."
You can shop the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint here for $26.
Glossier Stretch Concealer
"Makeup that lets skin look like...skin!"
If there is one make-up product you should be using, it is concealer. A good concealer can make you look flawless, awake, and ready for that productive day. However, it is quite hard to find a concealer that not only matches you perfectly, has enough coverage to cover both dark circles and blemishes, but also doesn't crease and lasts all day. Glossier Stretch Concealer comes in 5 shades. I have the color Light, which is in my opinion still quite dark - during the Winter time this concealer is way too yellow for me.
The Glossier Stretch Concealer claims to be a new type of concealer with elastic micro waxes that move with your face instead of caking on top of it, and nourishing oils that give a dewy, glowing finish. When it comes to their claims: Yes, they're pretty accurate. I definitely agree that this concealer is "stretchy". You can re-apply or re-pat it during the day, because it stays flexible. It does settle into your lines, especially because it's very oily and dewy, but it is super easy to fix if you just pat with your finger. Furthermore, this concealer is also very waxy or oily - perfect for people that struggle with dry or flaky skin patches.
However, if you have oily skin, you should run run run fromt his concealer. It will literally melt off your face. Yes, you are able to fix it by patting on your face, but this means that you have to touch up your make-up every 2 hours - ain't nobody got time for that.
You can shop the Glossier Stretch Concealer here for $18.
Glossier Wowder Duo
"Undo the dew."
Finding a good powder is like a little miracle. For that true "wow" effect, Glossier created not a powder, but a Wowder. Glossier Wowder claims that it will cut shine, blur the appearance of pores, set your make-up, and most importantly, still look like skin. I personally hate an over-powdered, cakey look, so I was super curious to see how this Wowder would work on my skin. When I first swatched the Glossier Wowder at their Flagship Store in NYC, I was a bit disappointed. The lightest shade - Light/Medium - was so freaking yellow and dark! It would be way too dark for my very pale complexion. Glossier Wowder only comes in 3 shades as well, making it very hard to cater to all skintones. They claim that the shades are adaptable, but I think that if you are very pale, this Wowder could be too dark for you. However, I still wanted to give this powder a go, and see how it worked on my skin.
I went for the Wowder Duo, which is the set of the Glossier Wowder and Glossier Wowder Brush. First, the Glossier Wowder Brush. Although it looks very pretty, the bristles of the brush are not that amazing. Yes, they're soft, but it's definitely not the best powder brush I've used so far. However, I do feel like it would be very nice for travelling. When it comes to the Glossier Wowder itself, I was happily surprised that the Light/Medium color was actually quite adaptable to my skin. It was a tad more yellow than my average foundation, but I actually liked that effect, especially during the Summer time. Furthermore, it mattified my skin and set my make-up very well, without looking too chalky. However, I did notice that this powder doesn't keep my face completely matte during the day. At the end of the day I can spot a bit of shine on my face, which I don't normally have with other powders. Nevertheless, I do actually like a bit of shine, so it's not necessarily a deal breaker for me. In sum, I think this is a good powder for anyone that wants a powder that looks like skin, but I think other powders would work just fine as well.
Would I recommend this product? No. It is a nice powder and brush, but I feel like it doesn't have that wow effect. Sorry Wowder.
You can shop the Glossier Wowder Duo here for $35.
Glossier Cloud Paint
"A new way to blush."
One shall not underestimate the power of a good blush. If there is one product one needs to get from Glossier, it is the Glossier Cloud Paint. This product revolutionized the way that blush applies and looks on my skin. I've always been a lover of blush, but I could never find the perfect one. Powder blushes would sometimes be too chalky on me, cream blushes would be too greasy, and cheek stains would be too bright for my pale skin. However, Glossier Cloud Paint solved my issue of finding the perfect blush. It has a semi-transparant, gel-cream consistency, that blends in perfectly with your skin. It truly looks like you're blushing, rather than you applied make-up to your cheeks. Mind you, even though this Glossier Cloud Paint is semi-transparant and buildable, it is definitely pigmented enough to really show up on your cheeks. A little goes a long way! I love applying it with my fingers, and just dabbing it onto my cheeks and towards my temples. It comes in 6 different shades, and I have 3 of them (yes, that's how much I love this product!). Dusk is a brownish nude, and probably my favorite shade. Beam is a soft peach, and is perfect for that fresh "apple cheeks" look. Puff is a light, cool pink, and looks good with more cool-toned lip colors.
Would I recommend this product? Yes! This is one of the best and by far the most natural skin-like looking blushes I've ever tried. You need it in all the colors too. Period.
You can shop the Glossier Cloud Paint here for $18.
Glossier Haloscope
"Find your light."
Who doesn't love a good highlighter? Although I love my highlighter to be blasting brighter than the sun, on some days, I like a more natural look. The Glossier Haloscope is perfect for that. It comes in 3 different shades - I have the color Moonstone, opalescent glaze. The Glossier Haloscope consists of two different parts, that create a mix of skin care and make-up. The outer halo of the stick is infused with real crystal extracts for a pretty shimmery sheen, while the solid oil core of the stick consists of vitamin-rich moisturizers for a hydrated, dewy finish. I personally really like the Glossier Haloscope, and I am considering in purchasing it in the other 2 shades as well. This highlighter really makes you look like you're glowing from within. I love applying it with my fingers, as I think it can sometimes be a bit too streaky if you just apply it from the stick. It's a natural effect type of highlighter, but the effect is definitely there!
You can shop the Glossier Cloud Paint here for $18.
Glossier Boy Brow
"Our all-in-one brow fluffer, filler, and shaper."
I feel like Glossier is mostly known for their Boy Brow product. A brow product that thickens, fills in, and grooms brows - all in one. It comes in 4 shades, including one Clear version without pigment. The texture of the Glossier Boy Brow is very interesting - it has more of a wax texture, making it a bit more greasy than your regular, more gel-like brow gel. This makes the Boy Brow give your brows hold, without actually making them feel hard or crunchy. The brush of the Glossier Boy Brow is very small, which I personally prefer being a brows perfectionist. Nevertheless, this product really didn't do it for me. I have the Glossier Boy Brow in both Blond and Brown, and both colors were just way too messy in their application for me. I like a natural looking, but sleek brow, while the Glossier Boy Brow make my brows look messy and patchy. I am still thinking about giving this product another go in Clear, as I usually don't like tinted brow gels in general. Still, the tinted Boy Brow just didn't work for me at all.
You can shop the Glossier Boy Brow here for $18.
Glossier Lidstar
"Less shadow, more glow."
Although I wear eyeshadow on a daily basis, I have never seen it as a necessity. It is a step that usually takes quite some time in my make-up routine. However, I do love playing with new eyeshadows and their effect. Glossier Lidstar - one of Glossier's newest releases - really caught my interest because of the packaging. It comes in a lipgloss-like tube, and has a doe foot applicator. It comes in 6 shimmery, but fairly neutral shades. I opted for the colors Slip - a sheer baby pink with golden highlight effect - and Lily (how could I not right?) - a sheer lilac base with blue and violet pearls. It claims that it doesn't need an eye shadow primer and will last all day.
Personally, I found Glossier Lidstar a bit of an odd product. I would say that the colors come out quite sheer, but they are very buildable - you can definitely add a second or even third layer to really make it pop. Glossier Lidstar also really sets - I indeed found that I did not need to use a primer in order to make it last. However, applying this product is super difficult. I didn't like to use it with my fingers, as it gave a too messy look. I also didn't like applying it with the doe foot applicator, because it made it look very unblended. My favorite way was to apply it with a brush, but that did mean that I could only use the brush once; because of the consitency of Lidstar, the bristles of the brush would become very dirty. I know I should be cleaning my brushes everytime I use them, but let's be honest... Who truly does that, especially when it comes to eyeshadow? In sum, I would say that if you are in love with one of the 6 shades Glossier Lidstar comes in, go get it. If not, you're not really missing out.
You can shop the Glossier Lidstar here for $18.
Glossier Lash Slick
"Extensions without the extensions."
One of Glossier newest additions to their ever growing collection is the Glossier Lash Slick, aka your good ol' mascara. They claim they had to create 248 formulations prior to finding the perfect one. Glossier Lash Slick claims to be an everyday mascara that looks like lash extensions, is water resistant (not waterproof) so it doesn't flake, and is easy to remove with some warm water at the end of your day. I am going to be honest with you guys: I've been using the same mascara ever since I was 13 years and just started wearing make-up, and I've never found a better mascara since (if you're wondering, I am talking about the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, or the CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara for my American followers).
I've tried everything, from drugstore to high end, but nothing has ever done a better job for my lashes. However, the Glossier Lash Slick Mascara did impress me. Is it better than the Max Factor or CoverGirl one? No, I don't think so, but I do think it's the second best mascara I've ever tried - and that is a big statement for me to make. It has a very similar brush to the mascaras I've mentioned before - a big, plastic bristle brush, which is my all time favorite. It also has fibers in its formula, which adds a lot of length to your lashes. It separates my lashes very well, but doesn't add a lot of volume in my opinion. However, Glossier Lash Slick does look really nice on your lashes. Furthermore, it doesn't flake at all during the day, even though I have very watery eyes. I will definitely be using this mascara, and possibly repurchasing it too (I mean, how cute is the pink tube it comes with?!), but it will not replace my other two beloved mascaras.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you are looking for a separating and lengthening mascara for everyday use, that stays on the whole day.
You can shop the Glossier Lash Slick here for $16.
Glossier Generation G
"Diffused, sheer matte goodness."
A good nude lipstick is as precious as a your daily vanilla soy latte. Or your favorite jeans. Glossier claims to have created the perfect je ne sais quoi lipstick, called Generation G. It claims to be a new kind of lip color that creates the effect of blotted lipstick, without actually having to blot it. It comes in 6 different colors, and I have the color Cake - a subtle peachy nude. Even though Glossier Generation G in Cake is a pretty dark nude color with a semi-matte on me, I did not think it was anything special. I have a lot of nude lip colors, and I just never tend to grab this one out of my make-up vanity. I think it's a combination with the rather boring packaging and the mweh lip color that makes me never wear this shade. If you are looking for a nude lipstick that isn't too obvious, then Glossier Generation G could be a good option. Otherwise, definitely skip this one.
You can shop the Glossier Generation G here for $18.

GLOSSIER FRAGRANCE
Glossier You Perfume Solid
"The ultimate personal format."
Apart from skin care and make-up, Glossier also launched their signature fragrance: Glossier You. I wasn't a fan of the packaging of the Glossier You Perfume, but I did love the packaging of the Glossier You Perfume Solid - so I thought to give it a sniff... uhh go. Glossier You claims to melt and mix into your skin, creating a scent that is unique to everyone's body - isn't that what we all want? This fragrance is definitely quite warm, featuring notes like ambrette, ambrox, and musk. If you are more into fresh and floral scents, Glossier You is not for you (no pun intended). However, if you are looking for a pretty and practical to-go perfume, Glossier You Perfume Solid is definitely a good option for you.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you are looking for a perfect travel companion that smells good and you are into warm and musky scents.
You can shop the Glossier You Perfume Solid here for $22.
My Minimal Study Day Make-Up Routine with GLOSSIER
Glossier is the brand for an everyday, minimal make-up look. Especially during stressful study days, I like to wear a more minimal study day make-up look, in order for me to still look presentable, while also saving time on my regular morning make-up routine. I created this make-up routine video dedicated to my go to study day make-up look. Definitely watch it if you're interested in the routine, or if you want to see the Glossier products live in action!
I hope you enjoyed my Glossier Beauty Bible blogpost. Glossier is definitely a very hyped up beauty brand, and I can see why. Not only is their packaging super cute, their philosophy very refreshing, and their models gorg, their products do actually work (most of the time). Unfortunately this Glossier Beauty Bible is not complete - I don't own all the products they have launched. I still want to try the Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich, their Body Care and their Face Masks. With that being said, I did feature most of their products, so it hopefully gave you a good overview of what to get and what to skip. You can purchase any of the Glossier products I've featured in this Beauty Edit with 10% off using this link. Happy shopping!
