Now that Winter is slowly going home again (and she better ain’t coming back soon, bitch!), my skin care and make-up preferences are changing too. Bye vampy lips and thick creams and say hi to glowy highlighters and lightweight skin care! I’m just very excited for this upcoming season. I love Spring, but who doesn’t right? So yeah, I was really in the need to update my make-up and skin care for Spring, so that’s what I’m going to share with you in this haul. Hope you enjoy!
I have a weird relationship with Lush: I love their products, but whenever I buy something I never end up finishing it. Up until recently: I realized that I was almost out of my beloved Popcorn Lip Scrub, so I had to do a re-buy. I love the texture of this scrub and I think it’s an essential step most people forget to do (I always do it after I brush my teeth). And because I liked this scrub so much and I just finished my body scrub as well, I decided to try out Rub Rub Rub too (such a cute name). It’s a bright blue oily scrub with sea salt particles that scrub your skin. What I love about this scrub is that it’s pretty embrassive, but it also leaves a layer of oily goodness on your skin, making it super soft! And because I also ran out of my facial cleanser and face masks (pretty proud of that, because I had so many laying around) I decided to give Lush a go on that territory as well. I went for Angels On Bare Skin, because I remember loving that when I had it before. It has lavender in it, which really helps with the acne redness/scars on my skin too. The mask that the Lush girl advised me (again for the redness and scarring on my face) was Brazened Honey. I’ve never heard of this mask before, but it detoxifies your skin + it smells divine!
BEAUTY BLENDER MICRO MINI
Going into make-up: I got the Beauty Blender Micro Mini version. First of all, can we just appreciate their cuteness for a sec? I have heard good things about these babies, and because I love the Original Beauty Blender so much, I wanted to try them out too. I think they will work perfect with my MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer!
YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT FOUNDATION & CONCEALER
I’m super picky when it comes to buying new foundations. I almost never do anyways, especially when it comes to high end foundations. There’s just something about them that makes me disappointed every time I try out a new one. When I swatched the YSL Touche Éclat Foundation I was really surprised. The color seemed very fair and the texture felt light on my skin. I bit the bullet and got this + the matching YSL Touche Éclat Concealer that I had before and loved. My opinion: when I use it with a mattyifing primer it lasts quite well on my face. It has a lovely finish, light to medium coverage and it’s the perfect Winter color for me. Now that I’m going into the Spring + starting to self tan again, I’m not sure if I can use it, but I’ll definitely start using it again next Winter! And the concealer is great btw: I love mixing it with my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer to make it a bit lighter + more highlight-y!
NARS ALBATROSS HIGHLIGHTING BLUSH
This baby was on my wishlist for such a long time. I’m talking about the famous Nars Albatross highlighter. My mom was in Germany and picked it up for me at the Sephora there – thanks mom! <3 It has the most beautiful pale, champagne sheen and I can’t wait to wear this in combination with my NARS Deep Throat Blush (lol)!
THE BODY SHOP BRITISH ROSE EXFOLIATING GEL BODY SCRUB
Last, but not least is this new The Body Shop British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub. Guys, this smell: I wish you could smell it through your computer screen, ’cause damn. It’s divine. I love the smell of fresh roses and this scrub definitely smells that way. The scrub is also very soft for your skin (not as harsh as the one from Lush), so this is a perfect ‘in between die hard scrub sessions’ scrub. If that’s even a thing (I guess I’m just pretty much addicted to scrubs, haha). And the packaging is also super cute!
I’m wondering how my skin is going to react to this new season. As you guys now, I’ve struggled with acne and skin picking for multiple years, and since October my skin is finally getting clear again. My skin used to be a mess during the Winter and it would get better during Spring time (and in the Summer it fluctuates like crazy: some days are good due to the sun & sea water, other days are fucking bad due to sweating, gross). So if my skin is clear now, how awesome is it going to be in the Spring? That was kind of my biggest inspiration to invest in some new skin care (and make-up, ’cause make-up is love) for the new season. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this blogpost and I will talk to you later!
