There’s something about hotel beds. I don’t know how they do it, but a hotel bed just can’t beat any other place to sleep in my opinion. Especially if it’s a hotel located in one of my favorite cities ever: New York. During my trip previous week, my mom and I have been staying in The Standard Hotel New York City. What I love about this hotel is the fact that it’s not only a hotel, but a hotspot too: they have cool parties, multiple places to eat and the rooms are just to die for. If you want a hotel with an extra oompf ánd really cool vibes, The Standard Hotel, High Line is the place to be. In this blogpost I’ll be sharing my thoughts on my hotel room, the hotspots located in the hotel and the food (’cause let’s be honest: food = life).

THE HOTEL ROOM

First, let’s start with a room tour of our hotel. The Standard Hotel has one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever visited. I love the minimal yet classic design of the room and the view is just stunning. Waking up while seeing the New York Skyline has been one of my coolest memories of my trip to NYC, for sure. Another thing I love about this room is the bath. It also has the same amazing view as the bed. Every morning, I took a morning bath and it made me completely zen (+ studying in bath is actually pretty relaxing too haha!). I definitely recommend this room: the bed is comfy, the bathroom is something else and the stunning New York skyline view gives me life!

THE STANDARD PLAZA

When it comes to food, The Standard has a couple of places you can go. The first hotspot is The Standard Plaza. It’s located outside (with heated lamps, so you won’t get cold) and it hasa lot of little antipasti dishes you can choose from. The menu offers simple, yet delicious Italian and Californian-inflected dishes alongside classic pizzas made to order. We ordered the beet cured wild striped bass crudo and the avocado, fresno chili and especially the last one was delicious! Definitely a great place if you want to grab a quick bite.

THE STANDARD GRILL

Last, but not least is The Standard Grill. If you want more of a substantial meal, The Standard Grill is the way to go. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I especially recommend coming there at breakfast time. They have tasty pancakes, great poached avocado toast and yummy smoothies. During dinner time it’s really busy, so I recommend reserving a table so you don’t have to wait. And be prepared: the portions during dinner time are insane (especially the chocolate mousse – so good!)!
