Hi guys!
My exams are finally over, I did some great partying to celebrate that ánd I gave my room a good Spring cleaning: my mind is now all set and done for blogging, so that’s what I’m gonna do! It feels great being able to wear cute clothes again and put on some make-up after 2 weeks of die hard at home studying (trust me, I walked around as a zombie without any make-up on and some leggings, bloggers don’t look perfect all the time). Expect some great outfit of the days coming your way! Because I worked so hard the last couple of weeks, I wanted to reward myself with something awesome. So I went for the Zoeva Rose Golden make-up brushes. At first I bought the Complete Eye Set, but after falling in love with it instantly, I also ordered the Luxery Set. No regrets, haha! I wanted these brushes for a really long time + I was in need of some new brushes as well, so that’s why I bit the bullet and got both sets at the same time. And guys, I’m in love.
ZOEVA ROSE GOLDEN COMPLETE EYE SET
The first set that I got is the Complete Eye Set. I didn’t own a lot of eyeshadow brushes, so I picked this set over the other, Luxury set. It contains 12 brushes and they are all very different to the brushes that I owned. I felt like my eye make-up could look a bit messy sometimes, just because I didn’t have enough control. I like to work with smaller eyeshadow brushes, just because you can apply the products more precisely. Most of my eyeshadow brushes are kind of big, so this set was an amazing addition to my collection. The exact brushes of this set are:
- 142 Concealer Buffer: Apply and blend concealer
- 224 Luxe Defined Crease: Lightly blend eyeshadow in the crease
- 226 Smudger: Blend eyeshadow and eyeliner along the lash line
- 227 Luxe Soft Definer: Softly blend and smooth eyeshadow
- 228 Luxe Crease: Blend eyeshadow easily and professionally
- 230 Luxe Pencil: Apply and smudge eyeshadow and eyeliner
- 231 Luxe Petit Crease: Accentuating and blending in the crease
- 234 Luxe Smoky Shader: Apply and blend eyeshadow for a smoky eye effect
- 237 Detail Shader: Detailed and precise application of eyeshadow
- 315 Fine Liner: Create fine delicate lid lines with cream eyeliner
- 317 Wing Liner: Detailed eyeliner strokes and a perfect wing
- 322 Brow Line: Apply eyebrow products for expressive brows
I’ve tried them all out twice so far and I have to say, these brushes rock. They are very soft, yet sturdy and give you great control over your eyeshadow application. I love the fact that this set contains a lot of smaller pencil and blending brushes. In my opinion, those kind of brushes are the key for creating that flawless eyeshadow look. The set also contains a concealer brush, a brow brush and two different kinds of liner brushes.
So what’s my opinion? I love this set, I truly do. I have a lot of MAC brushes (I collected them over the years, some brushes are already 6 years old!), and these Zoeva brushes are definitely on the same level. Of course, MAC brushes are amazing, but these Zoeva brushes have impressed me as well. I think this set is great for somebody that loves eyeshadow and just wants a complete set for creating beautiful eye looks. You definitely don’t miss any make-up brush, so I think the name Complete Eye Set is very appropriate. And yes, the rose gold handles make these brushes even more beautiful <3.
ZOEVA ROSE GOLDEN LUXURY SET
After falling in love with the Rose Golden Complete Eye Set, I knew I wanted to get the Luxury Set too. I really needed a big powder brush as well. The rose gold handles were just too pretty to pass, so I also decided to buy this set to complete my collection. The only downside of this set is that it contains four of the same brushes as the other set, which means that you only get four new ones. The four new brushes are face brushes though, so they do come in very handy. The set contains the following brushes:
- 106 Powder: Apply loose and pressed powder
- 102 Silk Finish: Apply and blend foundation
- 110 Face Shape: Contour the face shape with cream and powder products
- 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek: Apply powder blush
- 142 Concealer Buffer: Apply and blend concealer
- 227 Luxe Soft Definer: Softly blend and smooth eyeshadow
- 231 Luxe Petit Crease: Accentuating and blending in the crease
- 317 Wing Liner: Detailed eyeliner strokes and a perfect wing
I do have to say, I’m a bit less excited about this set than the previous one. Don’t take me wrong, the brushes are amazing and having some of the same brushes can be pretty nice actually (especially if your friends want you to do their make-up, haha), but the quality of the face brushes didn’t impress me as much as the quality of the eye brushes. I don’t know what it is, but they just feel a lil’ bit cheaper or something. They are very soft though and I get a great make-up application, but I do prefer my MAC face brushes over these ones.
I still think this is a great set as well. If you’re not really into eyeshadow and you just want to get a set that will fix you up with some basic brushes, this one is perfect for you. It has a powder brush, blush brush, contouring brushes and some basic eye brushes: everything you will need for a basic everyday face. So yeah, although the Complete Eye Set is definitely my favourite one, I’m still glad I have this one in my collection as well!
The brushes come in these two very pretty pouches that are perfect for travelling. I love the rose gold detailing! I haven’t washed the brushes so far, so I don’t know if these brushes shed a lot. I will keep you posted on that one! Also, keep in mind that the brushes smell very synthetic-y when they just arrive. After a couple of hours the smell goes away tho, so nothing to worry about. Anyways, I’m utterly in love with these rose gold brushes and I can’t stop staring at them (they look too perfect on my make-up vanity, I can’t even, haha). They were definitely an investment, but if you think about the individual price for each brush, it’s actually pretty cheap. The quality of these brushes is also amazing. So yeah, I totally recommend these brush sets. The only thing that I dislike is the fact that there are 4 similar brushes, but hey, now I can postpone the brush cleaning process a bit longer, haha. These brushes are so beautiful! The eye brushes look such great quality, they look super soft too! Shame that you didn’t love the face brushes as much as the eye brushes! Maybe over time you’ll grow to love them too! x
