Can’t believe 1/4 of 2014 is already over. Like what the heck, why is time going so fast? I know every blogger is saying this, but I just start thinking about it when I’m making these monthly faves. It’s a reminder for me to start living more in the present, and not be thinking to much about the future you know. But yeah, I don’t have a lot of faves this month for ya. It’s probably due to the fact that I had exams this month, so looking presentable wasn’t high on my list haha. That’s why I don’t have any beauty favourites for you this time (I did find some new skincare products, but I haven’t tested them long enough to get a real opinion about them + my skin has been terrible lately). I do have other faves for you though! So leggo :).
My first fashion favourite are dainty necklaces. I like to layer a couple of different once, which makes them look very effortless. The main thing that you need to keep in mind is that they have to have different lenghts, otherwise you won’t get the desired effect. My dainty necklaces are from H&M and the little turtle was a gift from my mom and grandma.
I’ve also loved wearing pastels this month (no surprise, haha). I wore my lilac sweater from the Zara loads, and I also loved wearing my mintgreen top from Topshop. And I also loved wearing my baby blue sweater from Primark, but when I took these photos, I hadn’t bought it yet, haha.
My last fashion favourite this month was my fluffy cardigan. You know that I love fluffy items in general, but this cardi was my most worn fluffy piece that I own. It just looks so good with so many outfits! It’s very versatile, and that’s why I love it. It has a casual vibe to it, because it looks very big and slouchy. And it’s soooo soft! It’s from the H&M by the way.
Despite the fact that I loved wearing pastels this month, my favourite outfit is all black. Guess that’s typical Lilia, haha. If you wanna know the details of this outfit, click here!
My favourite song this month was Lit from Bas featuring J. Cole and K-Quick, but I’ve been loving the new Dreamville mixtape in general, that’s called Revenge Of The Dreamers. Fun fact is that I actually heard this song live when I went to the J. Cole concert (Bas and Omen were there as well!). I have to say, I didn’t know that the whole Dreamville clique made such cool music! Of course, J. Cole is still my fave, but I also really like Bas. The mixtape is free on DatPiff, so you better go download it if you’re into dope hiphop!
I’ve been totally hooked on The Walking Dead. Like omg, how could I totally miss this brilliant series? It’s a post-apocalyptic series and it starts with the main character, police officer Rick Grimes, who wakes up from a coma in a hospital, while the rest of the world is filled with human-eating zombies. What a start huh? I’m not going to spoil any other details, but it’s definitely worth a watch. It doesn’t have the best script ever (like for example Breaking Bad, Suits or True Detective), but the acting is great and there’s one aspect of this series that makes it outstanding. And that’s the constant tension during the series. I’ve never felt something like this with any other series or film (and trust me, I’ve watched a lot of horror/thriller). In every scene, you really don’t know what’s going to happen, you’re constantly worrying if one of your favourite characters is going to die. And yeah, this is the kind of series where leading characters just die, and I think you need to have balls as a producer to do something like that. Just go and watch this guys, ’cause trust me, it’s fucking good. And I’m a diehard Bethyl shipper, haha.
The second series that I have been watching a lot this month is True Detective. It’s about two detectives, Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, who become entangled during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. It’s interesting to see them working together, because they’re both very different from each other. I love the philosophical, controversial, deep talk of Rust and I think Matthew McConaughey plays this role brilliantly. I’m not a huge fan of him, but after seeing this new side of him, I can’t get enough of his acting. I’ve already watched all the episodes of season 1, can’t wait until there is a new episode again (does anybody know the release date?).
That were all my faves! I hope you enjoyed reading about my March favourites. Now I’m going to study for my administrative law exam, because I have a lot to do still, ugghh…
