MY NEW MAKE-UP VANITY

Hi guys!
First of all, Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful time with your family and loved ones. To be totally honest with you, I’m not that big on Christmas in general. For me it always ends up with a lot of stress and drama, haha. I usually can’t wait until this month is over and I can start the next year. That’s just me. Anyways, today I’m going to talk about my new make-up vanity or dressing table. I’m totally in love with it and I think it looks so pretty in my room. You could already see it in this post, but today I will be talking a bit more in depth about it + showing you a some of my make-up stash. Exciting stuff right?

Damn, just look at this beauty. Isn’t she absolutely stunning? I had the dressing table for a while (got it from Ikea), but now I added a mirror and these side light bulbs that look really Hollywood glamour-ish. They’re also from Ikea by the way (Ikea for the win!). The mirror and the light bulbs definitely give the table the ‘make-up vanity’ vibe, if you know what I mean. What I love about this combination is that it’s a pretty minimal and grown-up dressing table. Some make-up vanities are so girly, which is cute, but that’s not really my style. This make-up vanity is just perfect in my opinion and I love the simplicity of it! Another thing that I like is that there is a glass plate on the vanity. This makes it very easy to clean (and trust me, make-up makes my vanity dirty so quickly!).

So what do I keep on my make-up vanity? In the right corner I have some porcelain jars where I keep q-tips and cotton rounds. I always use q-tips to clean up my mascara (I literally can’t apply mascara without getting it everywhere on my eyelid), so I always keep them at an easy accesible spot. Next to the jars I have my Scarlett by Cacharel perfume. It’s not my most favourite perfume, but I think it looks really nice with the jars, so that’s why I keep it there. I also have some cute candles as decoration on my vanity.
Next to the jars I have my everyday make-up transparent holders + my lipproduct holders. The left one is from Kruidvat and the other two at the right are from Ebay. I think these transparent holders make everything look very organized. And I just love how my MAC lipstick holder looks, haha (I have still 4 spots to fill up!).
Next up is my extra mirror that I use whenever I need an extra good close-up. It has a magnifing and a regular mirror. I also got it from Ikea by the way. Behind the mirror, I have a candle that I like to burn whenever I’m doing my make-up and I’m not in a rush. It smells like vanilla cookies and I also got it at Ikea (damn, I have a lot from Ikea!).
In the left corner I have my make-up brushes holders (also from Ikea…) and a little lamp that looks really cute with the make-up brush holders if you ask me (Ikea again, haha). Lastly, I have this little tray that matches the brush holders where I keep my most used nail polishes, or polishes that I’m wearing at the moment (and you know where it’s from, haha).
Don’t worry, I have even more make-up in the drawer of my vanity. Yup, no shame, I own way too much make-up. I have to say tho, I have been crazy about make-up since I was a little girl and some items such as eyeshadow are already 10 years old. I just never throw something away, except if it just smells really bad. Also, I think that I use everything that I have. Of course, I don’t use really heavy-ass coloured eyeshadow that much, but most neutral shades, foundations, concealers and blushes have are used (and have pan!). So yeah, it’s a lot, but I just use a lot of make-up as well! In the picture you can also see my little stool. It’s just a regular white stool, but I added a really cute fluffy pillow to spice it up (they’re both from Ikea as well).
To organize my make-up in my drawer, I use these transparent dividers that I got, surprise surprise, from Ikea. In these dividers I keep my liquid and powder highlighters, blushes and my foundations. As you can see, I have some high-end (MAC, Nars, Bobbi Brown, Benefit) blushes, but also some budget (The Body Shop, Hema & NYX) products laying around.
Next up are some random items. In this divider I keep some eyeshadow palettes, face powders and bronzers. I also have my brow products, tweezers, concealers and lashes in this divider. A lot of miscellaneous stuff as you can see. And I really digg Catrice face products, haha.
In the last dividers I always keep all my eyeshadows. I have a couple of palettes (Naked <3) and some single eyeshadows as well. This is probably my favourite section of all my dividers, I just love eyeshadow!
And that’s the end of my make-up vanity tour!
By the way, I’m going to tell you something that’s really, really awesome for me and all the other peeps that live in or near Groningen. Primark has officially stated that they’re coming to Groningen! And guess where the shop is going to be? Right in front of my freaking house! I’m sooooo excited about this. Now I don’t have to travel 1,5 hours to Almere, but I just literally can roll out of bed and buy too much stuff there that I probably don’t need, every single day!

So yeah, that’s it for today’s blogpost. Now I’m going to read some Roman Law (yup, I’m the only person in the world that does homework on fucking Christmas day) and get myself a bit more presentable (at the moment I’m chilling in a hotpink bathrobe). Have a great Christmas and I talk to you later!

This is great! What are your suggestions for an oval mirror?? Really want to do this in our new house but the mirror in the bathroom that I want to frame is an oval. Hope to hear back!
    Thanks!!
