Me and my lipliners have only been best friends for a couple of months, but we’re already inseparable. I’ve been wearing them non stop lately. That’s because of their perfect matte finish, their ability to stay all day ánd the fact that they come in loads of pretty colours. They’re so much better than lipsticks in my opinion, and don’t get me started on lipgloss (I kinda feel like lipgloss isn’t that trendy anymore in general). I’ve accumulated a couple of lip pencils now, so I thought it was time to share my favourite ones with you. I’m going to talk high end & drugstore, so they’re all going to be suitable for your price range! So if you’re always wondering what’s on my lips, big chance it’s one of these five beauties!
CATRICE PRECISION LIP LINER IN 020 NUDE’RELIGION
The first lipliner I’m going to talk about is this very affordable one from Catrice. It’s a twist up lipliner in this very pretty warm-toned nude colour. It’s a very hard colour to describe, but I think a toned down peachy nude is the best description I come up with so far. The lipliner isn’t drying at all, and that’s because of the slightly velvety formula of this lipliner. It’s pretty smooth and not totally opaque, but because it’s such a natural colour, it doesn’t matter if it isn’t that pigmented. It’s still pigmented enough to cover my dark lips, so I definitely think the pigmentation is good enough. And don’t get me started on the colour, so pretty! The only downside to this lipliner is the fact that it’s discontinued, I think. I’m not 100% positive, but I haven’t seen it in stores for a very long time :(. I do definitely recommend this one, especially for the price!
MAC LIP PENCIL IN NAKED LINER
Nude lipliners are something that is very difficult to find. It’s so hard to find an opaque nude lipliner that suits your skintone and doesn’t make you look like a character from The Walking Dead (and no, I’m not talking about hella cute Beth if you’re wondering). Well, I think this lipliner is a very close call to the still-to-be-found perfect nude liner. It makes my lips very nude and it doesn’t clash with my skintone. Another thing is that it’s not that drying for my lips. I do recommend wearing a lipstick over it, because I think a little bit of shine would make this lippy even prettier. Definitely check this one out if you’re in the market for a nude lipliner! You can check out my full review here by the way.
MAC LIP PENCIL IN SOAR
My favourite lipliner of all time. MAC Lip Pencil in Soar. This was my first lip liner from MAC ever and o-em-gee, it is perfection in a pencil. Let me tell you that. If I could only wear one lip colour for the rest of my life, it has to be this lip pencil. The colour of this lip liner is a your lips but better colour mixed with a berry nude. Such a failed description, but okay. This is also the lip liner that Kylie Jenner uses (check out this comparison!) and it’s sold out all over the world. I totally understand the hype, because this colour is hella unique. The formula is also great and I think this liner will look good on any skintone. If you want to buy one expensive liner, go for this one. You won’t regret it!
I just raved about how amazing MAC Soar was, but guys: this is a very close second, if not first. This lip liner from Catrice blew my mind. I’ve always liked Catrice and their lip liners, but this one is amazeballs. Just look how beautiful this colour is on my lips! I think it’s a really good, affordable dupe for Soar and maybe the effect of this lipliner comes even closer to the Kylie Jenner lips than Soar. I just freaking love everything about it: colour, lasting power & texture! Definitely the best drugstore lip liner I’ve tried so far. Catrice, you’re killing it.
MAC LIP PENCIL IN BURGUNDY
The last lipliner I’m going to show you is this very dark, vampy liner from MAC. Such a statement colour right? The pigmentation of this lipliner is cray cray and you definitely don’t need a lipstick over this baby. It is quite drying though, so if you have dry lips, I do recommend putting on a lipstick anyway. The undertone of this lipliner is very cool and red, which makes your teeth look very white. If you’re into vampy lips, this lipliner is definitely for you, especially in the Fall & Winter time!
And of course, I had to make a cool gif!
So that’s it for today’s blogpost. All the lipliners that I showed you are wearable on their own, but also look good with a lipstick (and/or lipgloss if you want) as well. They make lipsticks last longer and also make the pigment a bit more intense. You can also switch different lipliner + lipstick combos to create your perfect shade. I hope you found this blogpost helpful and I got you also a bit more into that lipliner vibe! Have a nice day and I talk to you later!
