Mykonos is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Greece always had a special place in my heart being an Ancient Greek culture lover in the first place, but Mykonos made me appreciate the beauty of Greece even more. I have never been to Mykonos before, but all the beautiful pictures on Instagram definitely got me hyped. Today I am going to share all my Mykonos travel tips and hotspots I discovered. Perfect if you're already planning a Summer holiday trip for next year. 😉
"Andronikos Hotel is a luxury 4* hotel in Mykonos with splendid views of the Aegean sea and the sunset. Andronikos Hotel Mykonos is the ultimate choice when you look for a luxury Mykonos hotel. It combines easy access to the beaches and to Mykonos Town, design accommodation that inspires the senses, exquisite dining at the Lady Finger Greek gourmet restaurant, soothing spa treatments at the Earth Spa and a hip, relaxed atmosphere at the Skybar."
The first hotel I've stayed in was the Andrikonos Hotel. This hotel is pretty close to the airport, which means it's located on the higher part of Mykonos, further away from the sea coast. What I really loved about the hotel was the 'resort' part of it. I spend most of the day chilling at the terrace with the salt water pool. The hotel had an amazing view, nice food, but was a bit too expensive for the simple room I've stayed in (I didn't take any pictures of it, because it was just way too plain). However, if you are not planning on really enjoying your hotel room, and you don't mind to be located further away from the beach, the Andrikonos Hotel is a good option.

"Mykonos is well known for its beautiful beaches and stunning seaside and sunset views. And yes, it is even more breathtaking in real life than in photos."
"This resplendent boutique hotel in Mykonos encapsulates the island’s cosmopolitan charm and Cycladic spirit in its brilliantly appointed interiors taking luxury vacations to new heights. Surrender your senses to the blissful silence of the sea and take in the miraculous panoramic vistas as you experience one by one the pleasures of refined luxury and the epitome of luxury accommodation in Mykonos, Greece."
The second hotel in Mykonos I stayed at was the Appollonia Hotel. This hotel is located at the coast of Mykonos (literally 10 minutes walk from the beach). It has a stunning seaside view, it is very clean and well-taken care of. However, the rooms are again quite simple for the price that you have to pay - Mykonos is just very expensive. So if you have the extra budget, I would definitely upgrade to a more luxurious hotel - just so you have the whole experience.
For more info you can check out the Appollonia Hotel website here.

"With elegant and cozy facilities, as well as excellent services, De.Light Boutique Hotel and its staff are devoted to offering delightful holidays to our guests. As for the division of the word (De.light), here comes an interesting story that will “reveal” the secret behind the dot: De.light Boutique Hotel is ideally located at Agios Ioannis bay, overlooking the sacred island of Delos."
The last hotel I want to mention is the DeLight hotel. I did not end up actually staying here, but it was located right next to the Appollonia Hotel and me and my mom hung out here more than at our actual hotel, haha. I would HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel. It had all the good aspects of the previous hotels + everything that the other hotels missed. We really regret not actually staying here. The staff was nice, the hotel itself felt very luxurious and the food was delicious. And the sea view together with the infinity pool was just amazing. Again, I would really recommend this hotel to anybody, and I will definitely come back here if I have the chance!

"Mykonos is extremely photogenic and well-taken care of, which matches my general life aesthetics perfectly."
HOTSPOT: ALLEY BAR
"Our Cocktail Bar offers specialty handcrafted cocktails made with elixirs, syrups, and infusions made from garden herbs and spices, and fresh-pressed produce and exotic ingredients from around the world. It first opened its doors in May 2012."
During our trip to the city centre of Mykonos, I discovered this amazing hotspot called Alley Bar. Let me tell you guys: I had the best cinnamon raisin smoothie EVER there. It may seem like a peculiar combination for a smoothie, but trust me, it was delicious. I still crave it once in a while, that is how good it was! The owner of the bar was a very nice guy and told us that he actually lived in NYC, but came back to Mykonos to open his own bar. He then served us a passionfruit cocktail, which was also really tasty (but the smoothie was better, not gonna lie). If you're in Mykonos, definitely check out Alley Bar. And can we take a moment for how cute the interior is?

MY FINAL THOUGHTS ON MYKONOS
Mykonos is definitely a beautiful island. It is a must visit. Not only for its stunning views, but also for the amazing city centre. I've never seen anything like it before, and I honestly fell in love with the little, cosy streets. The city centre is very lively, but still safe at the same time. All shops are open the whole night, so if you want to do some fine dining at 3 AM in the morning and do a big Sephora shopping spree after, you can totally do that (they have almost every shop here: from Sephora and Gucci to local souvenir shops and markets). Everything is literally lighten up as if it was daytime, so you don't even feel like it's already that late at night. My mind is still blown even thinking about it!
When it comes to the island itself, the beaches are beautiful and so is the rocky nature. It does get very hot though, so be prepared for lots of chilling in the pool/sea. If you have the chance, definitely rent a squad or motor cycle to tour around the small island. I actually had the time of my life doing a motor cycle tour at night around the island - I will never forget that.
Mykonos is extremely photogenic and well-taken care of, which matches my general life aesthetics perfectly. I guess that's why I felt so at home here. It does take a lot of work - the white streets are repainted everyday to keep them in pristine condition. Even during the off-season, the 'workers' of the island stay to make sure everything is neat and clean. If you're the type of person that likes a warm, beach type of vacation, but you also want to do some cultural/history sight seeing ánd really good partying, Mykonos is definitely the place for you.
