Name me one girl that doesn’t love a MAC lipstick. Yeah, I can’t think of one either. I think almost every girl has a weak spot for MAC Cosmetics lipsticks and I can’t blame them. Not only does MAC have the best lipstick quality ever (not kidding you guys, they never disappoint me), they also have an amazing colour selection. There are just so many pretty colours to choose from, sometimes I get overwhelmed. That’s why I love reviewing these lipsticks. If you ever go to a MAC store and you don’t even know where to begin, reading a couple of these reviews before is really handy. Today I’m going to review MAC Persistance lipstick, a very nice colour for Fall.
Let’s start with MAC’s good ol’ packaging. I have a total weak spot for MAC’s lipstick packaging. It’s classy, minimal yet chic at the same time. They look really good on my make-up vanity too. Oh and have I told you that these lipsticks smell awesome? They have a very nice vanilla scent to them. I like sweet scents, but not too sweet that they make me wanna throw up. This lipstick has the exact good amount of sweetness to it, haha! MAC Persistance lipstick is part of the new ‘The Matte Lip Collection” that has been out for a while now. All these new colours will become permanent, so no worries about LE colours!
Now onto the fun part, swatches! I took this picture with my new ringlight on and I didn’t colour corrected it at all. This way you get the most realistic colour swatch. As you can see, MAC Persistance lipstick has a very opaque, pigmented texture going on. It has a matte finish and MAC Cosmetics describes this colour as a peachy cinnamon (how good does that description sound btw). I totally agree with MAC this time: it’s not your regular cinnamon colour, but it’s definitely not a peach either.
ON THE LIPS
And this how the colour looks on my lips! In the first picture I have my bare lips for comparison, the second picture is with MAC Persistance only and the last picture is MAC Persistance lipstick combined with MAC Spice lip pencil. What a good match right?
Full face time! I love these orange brown-y shades on me. I think they compliment my complexion the best (I find it so hard to find cool toned lipsticks I like, I always feel like they clash a bit with my skintone, although they can look good other times – so hard having a neutral skintone haha!). They make a statement, without being to overdone. Another thing what I love about this lipstick is the texture. It has a very smooth, non-drying texture, especially considering the fact that this is a matte lipstick. This makes the lipstick a little bit less long lasting than other matte lipsticks, but on the other hand, they don’t dry out your lips as much. Because the shade is fairly neutral, it also fades beautifully.
MAC LIP PENCIL
I think MAC Persistance lipstick and MAC Spice lip pencil make the perfect lippie for Fall. MAC Spice lip liner is definitely my favourite liner ever (I’m usually wearing this shade), but I used to always combine it with MAC Kinda Sexy lipstick. This combo is my new favourite though, because it’s just a bit more vampy for the Fall season. Love that!
YAY OR NAY?
Well, you can guess it already: MAC Persistance is definitely a big fat yay. I can honestly say that this is probably going to be my new favourite go-to lipstick. So yeah, you NEED this baby in your life for this Fall season, I’m telling you (even if you have a different skintone than me, I think this is a pretty universal shade). This lipstick will definitely match all your pumpkin spice lattes you’re going to drink this season, and I mean, how awesome is that right! 😉 (okay honestly I find PSL disgusting, so I prefer White Cafe Mochas, but shhh don’t tell).
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FALL LIPSTICK?
