I think all of us wish we lived in one of those perfect Pinterest rooms we see pinned on our boards. Although I do believe in the Pinterest lie (how can one live in such perfection all the time? Can't deal lol), I do have some little tips and tricks that will make your room look great in an instant. Because I wanted to change up my room a bit (I do this every year), I thought it would be cool to film my little projects and share it with you guys. So that's what I did! I have 4 Pinterest inspired room decor ideas I want to show you. Also, I'm sharing a couple of styling tips with you too. I often hear you really like my home, so I hope I can help you out a bit with these ideas!
1. THE SHELF
The first room decor project I had was based on some super cute photos I saw on Pinterest. I saw a lot of clothing racks that had a shelf above them. I thought it looked so nice, I wanted to do it myself too. I got a high shine LACK shelf from Ikea (click) in a medium size (I didn't have space for the bigger one). It was only €7,99! Anyways, after hanging it up, I styled with some framed art from Pinterest (just search for 'printables' and you will find cute stuff + this frame is from Xenos), my Alexander Wang Mini Emile Designer Bag and a Diptyque candle. I choose these items, because of their height proportion. The candle is twice as small as the bag and the rose gold frame is twice as big, making it very pleasant to look at. I also stayed in the same color pattern, which makes it very clean and modern. Lastly, I recommend adding on uneven amount to any shelf whatsoever: asymmetry is more interesting than symmetry.
2. WALL OF FRAMES
The next Pinterest inspired room decor idea I'm going to share with you is a wall of frames. I already had a wall filled with frames in my room, but I wanted to change it up a bit. New season, new room or something like that, haha! All my frames had only photos in them + were baroque inspired - I wanted something more modern and clean for my room. So that's what I did! I bought some very cheapy photoframes from Action (they were around €0,89), spray painted a couple of them rose gold and filled them with some cool art and postal cards. The key to having a good wall of frames is by making it messy. I didn't remove all my baroque inspired photo frames. The combination of the white minimal photo frames, the rose gold minimal photo frams and a couple white baroque inspired photo frames makes it more interesting to look at (the baroque frames are from Zara, Xenos & Action btw). So it's okay to mix and match different styles. That's what gives it character. I love how it turned out!
3. THE PLANT CORNER
I love plants. I think they add a touch of freshness to every room and they are a great way to experiment with styling! I love the look a little corner filled with plants. Personally, I think plants on the flour look very col and unique. For this corner, I added a bonsai, palm tree and three little cacti. They all have rose gold/white pots (I got the basket from Hema and the geometrical pot from H&M Home) - sticking to the similar color pattern rule again! Also, I added a pair of pretty heels from Zara to give it a final touch (but a Chanel bag or other cute bag would look perf too!) and that's it! You have your own little plant corner!
4. PLANT STANDARD IKEA HACK
Last, but not least I have an Ikea hack for you. This one was inspired by this blog. I loved the idea, but I wanted to give it my personal twist by spray painting the lantarn rose gold. Yeah, this plant standard used to be a little lantarn, how cray cray is that? I think it turned out great - I love the rose gold - white combination, together with the succulent. So what I did: I first removed the lantarn part from the standard. Then I spray painted the standard with some rose gold paint. After letting it dry, I turned it upside down and added a plant to the lantarn bit. Et voilà, c'est fini! I bought this KÖPGLAD lantarn a while back for only €1,70, so I hope you can still get one if you're interested!
