Recently I had to go to Amsterdam for some PR meetings and decided to go on a lil’ adventure. One of my favorite things about this city is the fact that there are so many hidden gems to be found there. I love strolling around cute neighborhoods and discovering new hotspots. So that’s what I did. I bumped into this place called The Cold Pressed Juicery, which was like literally heaven to me. Although I love smoothies, I’m the biggest juice drinking addict ever. If you know me, you’ll know that I’m always drinking juice. I can’t help it, I’m just totally obsessed with it (ever since I was a lil’ kid). January has been a hell of a month for me. I was so busy with studying and stressing for my exams, I barely had the time to worry about other stuff. Such as my health, fitness and food pattern. And oh that thing called social life too. Anyways, now that my exams are finally over, I can start living a normal life again – kind of at least. Although this wasn’t a real new year’s resolution for me or something, I want to start getting fit again. Now it’s the perfect time to start if you want that perfect Summer body (I personally feel like ‘the perfect Summer body’ is more a myth than a true story lol) and this time I want to really achieve it. I don’t believe in diets, but I do believe in healthier choices. I’m not that type of person that needs something sweet from time to time. I’m not going to restrict myself, but instead, I’ll choose the healthier option. This time I have a (semi) healthy Chocolate Oat Drink for you, that’s the perfect alternative if you’re craving a sweet drink.
At the moment I’m all about that stu-dying life (or rather no-life, ’cause I literally don’t have any life except the one that’s with my nose in too thick law books). I have 2 essay deadlines and 3 exams to study for. And this hell continues up until the 29th of January. For me, January is always a fucked up month, but with these exams and deadlines it’s even worse. Anyways, whenever I’m studying I always like to have some snacks to eat. It’s easy to just grab some chips or ice cream (c’mon, I know we’ve all been guilty for doing that lol), but now I’m really trying to get back on the healthy track. So for me, this is the perfect healthy study snack!
Lately I haven’t been so good to my body. These last weeks I didn’t have any time to go to my dance classes and I also have been eating very poorly. Too much chocolate, tiramisu and ice cream isn’t good for you, I know that now. And having Christmas Dinners with my committee don’t help as well… Anyways, with the New Year’s coming and all, I really wanted to get back on the healthy track. That’s why I was searching for some healthy snacks. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t like to grab a quick snack during the day? It’s very easy to grab something unhealthy, but now I have this great almond butter rice cakes recipe that’s super easy to make and will keep you full for a good while. And it’s super yummy too!
I think this saying has become a cliché, but it’s still so true: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You should never, ever (EVER) skip it! But as so many things in this life, people don’t always practice what they preach. I have to say that I’m definitely guilty of skipping my brekkie whenever I’m in a hurry (which is usually always the case – I’m not a morning person at all). Lately, I’ve been really trying to wake up early and start my day the right way, with some good ol’ breakfast. That’s why I’m sharing this easy and pretty quick breakfast idea with you today.
