My Groningen City Hotspot Guide

As most of you guys now, my home town is Groningen City. I’ve lived there for 4 years, and definitely had a great time there. Before I left to start my new chapter in Washington DC, I did want to share my favorite hotspots in Groningen with you. The city of Groningen is one of the reasons why I decided to study at the University of Groningen – it has such a special atmosphere! That’s why I created this Groningen City Hotspot Guide, with all my must visits in my city. I know Amsterdam is definitely more popular choice to visit in the Netherlands, but Groningen is a great city to see as well. Moving abroad is no joke. There are a lot of preparations you need to do before you are actually ready to start your journey in another country. Having an accomodation to stay, fixing your passport or visa and getting your courses approved by the board – these are just a couple of things you need to take care when you want to study abroad. Another thing that is quite the struggle is how to pack your suitcase for studying abroad. There is a lot of information to be found when it comes to packing your suitcase for a short trip or a Summer holiday, but when it comes to packing your suitcase for a semester or year abroad I could not find a lot of useful tips. A Mini Luxury Retreat With L’Oréal Botanicals

For most of us, the most stressful time of the year (exam period…) is finally over. To me, this means one thing: time to relax! And what better way to pamper yourself than going on a retreat? I was kindly invited by L’Oréal Botanicals Freshcare to go on a two day retreat with them in the Dutch nature reserve De Veluwe at the estate Het Roode Koper. I had an amazing time filled with good food, beautiful nature and beautiful hair! La Mer Blue Heart

This was an unforgettable day. Imagine having lunch on a little island somewhere in the river delta, surrounded by beautiful nature and cute sheep. Yes, pretty special. A little while ago, I had the amazing opportunity to experience a delicious lunch on the smallest nature reserve in the Netherlands together with La Mer to celebrate World Ocean Day and the launch of their Crème de La Mer Blue Heart 2017 edition. Our journey started at a dock in Amsterdam, where a boat was waiting to transport us to Vuurtoreneiland.

HOTSPOT | Vapiano Groningen + Giveaway

One of my favorite restaurants of all time is Vapiano. You could literally wake me up at 3 AM for a plate of their whole wheat pasta funghi. Therefore, I was beyond excited when Vapiano also opened its doors in Groningen! If you don’t know what Vapiano is: It’s an Italian franchise concept you can find all over the world. It’s a mix between a restaurant and a more fast food-ish place: you order your food in an open kitchen, but after that you can eat it together with your friends and family in a more restaurant-like environment. Today I’m going to share my experience with you at Vapiano Groningen!
