TRAVEL DIARY | A Weekend in Nice + Hotspots

Time for a new travel diary! A while ago I went on a weekend trip with my mom to Nice, France. We definitely needed to spend some q-time together. We had a great time, especially due to the weather and the lovely hotel we stayed in. So what to do when you're a weekend in Nice? Well, I'm going to share all my adventures + hotspots in this blogpost and travel vlog!

VILLA OTERO

First of all, let's talk about the hotel I stayed in during my trip. I stayed in Hotel Villa Otero, part of the HappyCulture group. And oh my gosh you guys, this hotel is SO CUTE. Located in the Carré d’Or, this hotel has Nice's most symbolic architecture from the Belle Epoque: the Quartier des Musiciens. It's located near the city centre (about 15 minutes of walking) and the promenade/beach (also 15 minutes of walking). It's also nearby the train station, making it the perfect hotel to stay if you're planning on doing an interrail!

Another cool thing about staying at a Happy Culture hotel is that every day from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., they have a HappyTime accompanied by some sweet pastries and delicacies at the "Grand Goûter". They have it in each HappyCulture hotel and you are free to visit them all to enjoy the HappyTime!

We stayed at the double/twin room with a terrace. It was a lovely hotel room: a comfy big bed, a nice bath and a cute little terrace to drink some coffee in the morning! I would definitely recommend this hotel (the staff was also very friendly) and I would love to visit Nice ones more!

You can find more info about Villa Otero here.

Next hotspot is probably one of the best vegan cafés I've ever been to: Koko Green. Koko Green is an all-organic & vegan café situated in the colorful old town of Nice, serving a variety of vegan & raw food and drinks. They offer lunch and dinner menus that change every week, as well as all-day cafe items such as cold-pressed juices, smoothies (try their chocolate matcha drink, it's delicious!), coffees, teas and a selection of made-in-house raw cakes and gluten free baked goods. I had a lovely chocolate matcha drink their and a vegan burger with coconut bacon (yes, you read that right haha), which I loved! Can't recommend this place enough, even if you're not a vegan.

You can find more info about Koko Green here.

JOE & THE JUICE

If you follow me on Twitter (click!), you will know that I'm totally OBSESSED with Joe & The Juice. They sell the best juices and sandwiches and I'm so bummed they don't have a shop in the Netherlands. I love their Sports Juice with pineapple, passion fruit and apple and their avocado mozzarella sandwich. Definitely recommend you to take a peek when you're landing at the airport in Nice!

LADURÉE

Last, but not least, I had to drop by Ladurée and buy some delicious macarons. Who doesn't love macarons right? I think Ladurée makes the best ones, especially their vanilla is to die for! And don't get me started on the packaging... I visit the Ladurée pop up store at the airport, you can find it at terminal 2!
