I know that the new year already started and that Christmas seems already sooo long ago, but better really, really late than never, right? So despite the fact that it’s already January, today I’m going to talk about all the items that I got for Christmas. And it’s a lot. I feel so thankful and grateful for people giving me all these sweet presents, I truly know that it’s a blessing. So yeah, definitely not taking it for granted, whatsoever. I also did a lil’ bit of shopping previous month, which I’m going to show you as well. I wanna try to do a January no-buy month, because I’m spending way too much money on material stuff and I need to start saving up more. And if I manage to buy nothing this whole month, I think I want to reward myself by ordering some rose gold make-up brushes from Zoeva. Only if I literally don’t buy anything that I don’t need (and even in the sale!!!).
Let’s start of with skin care. I wasn’t familiar with the skin care brand REN, but I heard great things about it. It’s a skin care line that uses natural products and a lot of peeps swear by it. As you know, I love my Philosophy products, but I’m excited to try out REN and see what I think about it. I got 3 product: the Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, the Vita Mineral Omega 2 Optimum Skin Oil and the Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream. I won’t be reviewing these products soon (I always like to test out skin care products for a long time), but I can give you my first impressions. The Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is really creamy and doesn’t have harsh scrub particals in it, which makes it, suprise surprise, gentle, haha. The Skin Oil is as the name already suggests, a true oil, so it’s kinda hard to apply (it’s very runny). I only use this one at night under my moisturizer, otherwise it’s way too greasy. The Day Cream feels really nice on my skin and is not too oily, yet hydrating enough for my combination skin.
Next up is this Limited Edition Craig & Karl Kiehl’s Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit Skin-Softening Body Lotion. Damn, what a name, haha. I actually read a blogpost about this LE from Kiehl’s, so it’s nice that I got my hands on the body lotion. Kiehl’s is also a very good, natural brand, which I really appreciate. It doesn’t contain any silicons, yay! Tell me if you want me to review this guy or not (to be honest, I’m usually not that interested in body care reviews, but that’s just me).
Okay, I actually didn’t got this for Christmas, but at the airplane when I was traveling to Russia. Let me explain. My mom wanted to buy a couple of little perfumes, because they’re really handy to take with you. She ended up finding one at the catalog in the airplane and she didn’t like this one that much, so she gave it to me (thanks mom!). It’s the Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil perfume and it smells fresh and citrus-y, just the way I like it. I will be carrying this perfume with me in my purse from now on :).
I think this was my favourite gift that I got. The freaking Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. How pretty are these eyeshadows right? This means that my Naked palette collection is now complete <3333. I have the original Naked palette, Naked 3, the 2 Naked Basics palette and now als Naked 2. I’m so excited to start using this palette, so I will be reviewing this baby very, very soon! Can’t wait, haha!
Next up are these two lip glacés from Laura Mercier. They’re my first Laura Mercier products ever, but I heard great things about this brand, so I’m really excited. They’re very small, so perfect to carry around with you! The red colour is called Wildflower and the milky pink is Angelic. I haven’t tried out the red one, but the milky pink lipgloss is very pigmented and pretty. Usually colours like this are transparant, so I think it’s awesome that this lipgloss has such a good colour pay off!
Another couple of products that I’m really excited about are these Anastasia brow products. I think Anastasia makes the best brow products ever, so I’m very happy that I have some new items to add to my stash. I got the Tinted Brow Gel in the colour Blonde, which I’ve never tried before. The other item is the Brow Wiz pencil in Taupe. Kind of a bummer, but I actually had this one already in Ash Blonde, but you can’t get this colour now in Holland anymore. Now I have it in Taupe, which is a bit darker, which I don’t really like, but we’ll see how it goes. I’m gonna see how I like the products and I will definitely review both of them!
Now onto fashion! I bought this coat myself, so this isn’t a gift for Christmas. I was looking for an camel wrap coat for ages, so I was sooo happy when I could get my hands on this one. At the beginning, I wasn’t too sure about keeping it, but I’m glad that I did. It’s just so timeless and classy, but it still looks really good with some sneaks.
I also bought this burgundy croptop from H&M. I love the fact that it has a turtleneck + long sleeves, because this way it’s a bit more winterproof, despite the fact it’s a croptop. I’m also in love with the colour of this top. It looks amazing with my MAC Diva lipstick and I think it looks nice with my hair and skin colour. Gonna wear this one loads!
Last thing that I bought are thes over the knee high boots from H&M. I think they’re fucking badass, but I was sooo scared of trying them on at first, because I thought I would look like Puss in Boots, haha. I’m just really small and things like this can look very unflattering on me. Luckily I kinda digged the way these boots looked on me, especially with leather pants. I also like the cleated platform and the chunky heel, ’cause it makes them look so edgy. They’re stil a bit out of my comfortzone, but whatever, I’m gonna rock them!
Last fashion-y item that I got for Christmas is freaking amazing. It’s the Michael Kors Pavé Rose Gold-Tone Pendant Necklace. It’s so minimal and dainty, exact the way I like my jewelry to be! I think this piece is timeless and really classy, it will never go out of style. The necklace has two sides, one side which is just rose gold and has ‘Michael Kors’ written down on it, the other side has little crystals. I will be doing a whole blogpost about it with better pictures of it + how it looks on, so stay tuned!
Now onto my more lifestyle faves. First of all, I got some Diptyque candles, again. It’s the Limited Edition for Christmas, so they contain 5 different Chrismas-smelling candles. Yum! I already own 1 full size Diptyque candle, but these mini ones look really cute as well. I have the scents Ambre, Feu de Bois, Opoponax (what a name haha), Genevrier and Pomander. Although they’re tiny, every candle burns for 30 hours. That’s so freaking long! I’m still not sure if I’m going to burn them though, they’re just way too cute, haha.
I got even more candles, because I also have this big ass Sweet Vanilla candle from Kruidvat. They’re one of my favourite candles, I love the smell of vanilla! It also goes well with my all white interior. Because this candle is a bit cheaper and not so exclusive, I will definitely burn it. I got it from a really sweet friend of mine.
And that’s it for this huuuuuge blogpost, haha. I know, I got a lot for Christmas (+ the things that I bought myself), so a no-buy month is definitely a good thing for me now. I will make only one exception, and that’s for the Adidas Superstar II. But they’re sold out everywhere so I guess there isn’t going to be any exceptions (I hope so, haha). So yeah, hope you enjoyed this read and talk to you later!
